Cost of a new GTi clutch kit?

hey guys, my clutch has started rattling pretty bad every time i put the clutch down, i was told i needed a new clutch, i asked my mechanic for a quote and the response was $1250 which consisted of $900 clutch + 350 labor. Does anyone know where i could find a cheaper price? im in melbourne.

UPDATE: im going to murder this mechanic. i called peugeot dealer and a new clutch for the gti is 650! not 900! never going to this mechanic again, this was a friends dad aswel.. i was wondering why changing my disc brakes and service cost me 770. biggest RAT!

Luckily you looked around, rather than went through with it, he would have been laughing an you would have been in the dumps, general mechanics i wouldnt go for, best to go to European mechanics that special in these cars, rather than the basic mechanics..or peugeot dealers.
